Need a side income

Being a writer is a great job, so to speak, it doesn’t always pay the bills though. I have done my share of bussing tables and working in coffee shops and working behind grimy bars and now I just need to do a job that I love and that will inspire me while to write something extraordinary or just something that is a least creative. I have whittled my options down a bit and this is what I am left with.
I could be a sign maker. I work with words, to be a sign writer I would simply need to make those words look good on a sign above a shop or something. The only problems here is that all the shops I see already have signs so why the hell would they need another one?
One of my other options is to work part time as a journalist. Another problem though, I have no experience of journalism at all so it could be a difficult to make myself any money by writing news stories of whatever. There’s always copywriters though, I suppose they can make a little bit of money on the side and it is still creative writing.
My last idea was to join the circus. Isn’t that what all creatives do when they are down on their luck and need to make abit of cash on the side or is that just what I have been led to believe by watching ridiculous films when I was growing up? Then there’s the travelling fairground…
